Is Rhett dog friendly?
Yes! Rhett is dog friendly! Pets are happily welcomed at their outdoor, umbrella-covered tables that line the sidewalk of a quiet end of River Street. Part of the pet-friendly Alida Hotel, the Rhett is hip but casual and offers one of the better menus that we have seen in Savannah. Also to note is that some of the Rhett’s items are also served upstairs at their pet-friendly rooftop bar.
Food Situation:
The Rhett offers a Brunch, Dinner, Dessert and “Sparkling Hour” menu. Brunch is a hit with all the normal fare like omelets, pancakes and avocado toast, but we love their unique dishes like the creative southern take on a Croque Monsieur called the “Croque Scarlet.” Other unique dishes include the mushroom tartine and the loaded grit bowl. The dinner menu is more seafood driven, with a nice raw bar and a seafood tower. If there is a trout or a grouper on the menu, it should be a good choice, as well as the scallop chowder and mushroom risotto, and of course, if you like truffles, don’t miss the fries.
Drink Situation:
Yeah! If you are in the mood for a festive brunch, the Rhett is a great option with mimosas and a bloody mary bar. The Rhett, and the upstairs rooftop bar in the Alida are also well known for their specialty cocktails. They also have a nice selection of craft beers. Personally, I was more excited about the wine list. Although small, it is diverse and thoughtful with wines from Portugal, Austria and even a natural wine from Argentina.
Location and Other Tips:
The Rhett is located on the bottom floor of the pet friendly Alida hotel. It opens up to the back of the hotel, which faces a quiet part of River Street just across from the JW Marriott and part of the Plant Riverside district. If you are walking along the riverside, the Rhett is a great place to stop for brunch, happy hour, or dinner.
