Yes, Mayfel’s is dog friendly and makes our curated list of the best dog friendly restaurants in Asheville. Mayfel’s goes out of their way to say that they have dog friendly seating for all seasons. That gets two paws up from us. Their covered patio in the front of the restaurant has heaters for the chilly months and provides a nice fenced barrier between your table and the foot and road traffic. It still has a comfy open vibe and allows for some great Asheville people and pup watching. They also have a second dog friendly open air courtyard around the back with an entrance on Wall Street which has a quieter vibe.
Food Situation:
Popular with locals and visitors, Mayfel’s offers up some tasty Louisiana bayou home cookin’ with many Cajun and Creole favorites like Muffaletta and Po’ Boys, Jambalaya, Shrimp n’ Grits and Crafish Etouffee. They also offer a brunch menu with Beignets, Benedicts and Biscuits & Gravy
Drink Situation:
New Orleans classics like Sazeracs and Pimm’s Cups to Hurrican’s and Bloody Marys. They also offer a nice selection of local craft beers and wine.
Location and Other Tips:
Located in downtown Asheville, Mayfel’s is in the heart of all that the city has to offer. It is an easy walk to most of our favorite pet friendly hotels including The Restoration and the Kimpton Arras. It is also just down the street from the Patton Avenue Pet Company if you need any supplies.
