About Crystal Beer Parlor
Is Crystal Beer Parlor dog friendly?
Yes! Crystal Beer Parlor is dog friendly! Your furry friend can sit with you at one of the many tables in their outdoor tented area. There is plenty of space with regular four tops as well as picnic tables for groups, all protected from the sun and heated in the winter. This historic restaurant started as a grocer in the early 1900s, was rumored to be a speakeasy and then opened as one of the first restaurants in America to serve alcohol after Prohibition. It is a classic and an everlasting favorite for locals and tourists alike.
Food Situation:
Crystal Beer Parlor is known for its burgers, hand-cut fries and homemade onion rings, but also not to be missed is the crab stew which they call a Crystal Classic. They also offer a good selection of salads (some healthy and some not so healthy – here’s looking at you Southern Fried Chicken Salad. Yum.) and sandwiches as well as a smattering of Greek items from the owner’s family recipes. One final thing to be said…Peach Cobbler. And now we will drop the mic.
Drink Situation:
It’s called a “Beer Parlor” for a reason. With a serious selection of craft beers including 25+ on draft and another large selection in bottles and cans, if you are a beer lover, this is your spot. If you prefer brown spirits, you are also in luck as they carry a nice selection of scotch, bourbon, rye and whiskey. If you are a tequila/mezcal fan, there is also a menu for you! So this leaves me to the wine people, like me. Usually, in a beer-focused place, I have low expectations and will stick to sampling the tasty beers, but alas, there is a fine selection for wine people too. Any place where I can pair homemade onion rings with a bottle of Tattinger bubbly works just fine. Cheers!
Location and Other Tips:
The Crystal Beer Parlor is located in the historic district, just a 5-minute walk to the pickup spot for the pet-friendly Old Savannah Trolley tour. It is also around an 8-minute walk to Forsyth Park where you could take a nice post-beer-onion-ring-burger-binging stroll.
