About East Bay Inn
Built in 1852, this historic boutique hotel was originally a cotton warehouse. It housed a variety of businesses over the years until 1984 when it was renovated and became the beautiful East Bay Inn full of southern history and charm that you see today.

Yes! Dogs of all sizes are welcome at East Bay Inn! They have a one-time pet fee of $50 for the entire stay and you can have up to two dogs in a room. A bonus that you will only find in unique hotels like this is that two of their numerous dog-friendly rooms have their own private enclosed outdoor patio. Any place that has a tagline of “A Savannah Pet-Friendly Boutique Hotel” tells us that there is an emphasis on the “Pet-Friendly” part. Two paws up for that!
Are the lobby and other common areas of East Bay Inn pet friendly?
The comfortable and cozy lobby area is pet friendly. Grab a beverage from their in-house bar and relax in the lobby with other pet parents.
What is the check-in experience like at East Bay Inn? Do they do anything special for pets?
Again, as we stated before, any hotel that includes the term “pet-friendly” in their basic description of their hotel, is our kind of place. Upon check-in, you will receive a pet goodie bag filled with organic treats, balls, bags for your pup’s “biz” and a map of all the pup-friendly places nearby. Like most hotels, not every room is designated as pet friendly, so please make sure you connect with the hotel about your reservation to make sure you have reserved a pet-friendly room.
Is the location of East Bay Inn dog friendly?
Located in the heart of the historic district and one block off of River street, the East Bay Inn is in a perfect location to take in the best Savannah has to offer. There is green space just across the street if you need a quick park break and it is within easy walking distance to the riverfront and dog friendly restaurants like Vic’s on River and The Olde Pink House. It is also about a 1-mile walk to Forsyth Park.
