Hilton Hotels isn’t just a hospitality heavyweight; they’re also a top pick for pet parents across the U.S. With an impressive lineup of 18 brands and thousands of locations, Hilton offers a diverse array of choices for you and your furry adventurer.  Read on for everything you need to know about Hilton Hotels’ pet policies.

Table of Contents

Types of Pets Allowed in Hilton Hotels

Now, while Hilton rolls out the red carpet mainly for dogs and cats, they don’t discriminate against other members of the animal kingdom. Got a pet iguana named Spike? Some Hiltons might just say, “Come on in!” But don’t wing it—always double-check their website or give them a ring to confirm their pet policy. Service animals, of course, get the VIP (Very Important Pet) treatment across all Hilton brands at no extra charge.  See below for more info on specific Hilton brands.

Hilton Hotels Pet Fees and Weight Restrictions

When it comes to booking a room at pet-friendly Hilton Hotels, there will be a charge for including a dog and/or cat on the reservation. Per stay cost ranges from $35-200 based on the brand and specific location.  But hey, your furry friend deserves a little pampering too, right? All Hilton Hotels will have a pet weight restriction which can vary between 25-75 lbs depending on brand and/or location.

Which Hilton Hotel Brands Allow Pets?

Unfortunately, there are a few Hilton Hotel brands that do not allow pets (other than service animals) across the board, so steer clear of Hilton Grand Vacations and LXR Hotels & Resorts if you are pawsitive you will be traveling with your furry companion. But don’t worry, there are still plenty of other furbulous options to choose from!  Read on to learn more about the individual pet friendly brands under the Hilton Hotels umbrella.

The Best Pet-Friendly Hilton Hotel Brands and Their Pet Policies

Canopy Hotels Pet Policy

Canopy by Hilton Pet Policy

Canopy by Hilton is one of the most pet-friendly brands within the hospitality company’s portfolio. Both dogs and cats are welcomed with open arms and fresh treats across the Canopy by Hilton brand.  While all Canopy hotels are pet-friendly, there will be a $50-$75 charge (depending on the location) added to your folio when you bring your favorite furry sidekick. There is a size limit of 50-75 lbs per pet.  Each location is slightly different, however the pet policy for each location is easy to find on the individual hotel’s website in the “Hotel Policies” section.  Lastly, Canopy offers a “Paws in the Neighborhood” program which treats pet guests to extra amenities and a neighborhood guide.

Homewood Suites Pet Policy

Homewood Suites Pet Policy

Homewood Suites by Hilton is a popular hotel option for families needing extra space or travelers who are settling into one place for a longer duration. From a pet standpoint, Homewood Suites is pet friendly and we recommend you connect with the specific hotel.  Service animals are welcome at all Homewood Suites for no charge, but your furry sidekick will need to be noted on the reservation so call ahead to ensure your check-in process goes smoothly.

For the Homewood Suites that do accept pets, the policies—including weight limits, types of pets, pet fees and number of pets allowed—vary considerably.  The pet fees range from $25 to $125 depending on the pet-friendly location.

Home2 Suites Pet Policy

Home2 Suites by Hilton Pet Policy

Home2 Suites is a popular hotel option for those who travel with pets regularly.  The suites are roomy enough to easily accommodate all the 2- and 4-legged travelers in your paw-ty, plus there is a kitchen in each suite which eliminates the potential stress of finding a pet-friendly restaurant option nearby.

In terms of pet policy, Home2 Suites allows 2 pets per room with a 75 lbs weight restriction.  All breeds of dogs and cats are welcome at all Home2 Suites. The pet fee may vary by hotel location, but the maximum charge at the pet-friendly Home2 Suites is $125 non-refundable charge per room/stay.  As always, we recommend reaching out directly to the hotel that you are booking to confirm the pet fee so there are no unwelcome surprises.

Curio Collection by Hilton Pet Policy

Curio Collection by Hilton offers a portfolio of around 100 upscale, independent hotels and resorts across the globe.  While these hotels are truly divine, the ability to bring along your dog or cat is up to the discretion of each individual hotel and its policies, and, therefore, we find that many locations do not allow pets.  Service animals are allowed for no charge, as always.

For the pet-friendly Curio Collection hotels in the United States, there is a non-refundable cleaning fee that ranges from $50-$75, ensuring a spotless environment for all guests, including our furry friends. The weight limits vary between 50-75 lbs per animal, so it’s important to check if your pet falls within the “wag-tastic” weight range at your specific hotel. We urge you to call the Curio Collection Hotel in advance, so you aren’t left in the doghouse upon arrival based on unclear pet policies.

Conrad Hotels & Resorts Pet Policy

For travelers who are touring with their pet(s) and seeking a luxury hotel option, look no further than Conrad Hotels & Resorts.  They know how to pamper both you and your fur-tastic companion!  Conrad by Hilton does have a handful of pet-friendly locations which will happily welcome you and your furry friend(s).  The Conrad’s pet policy varies by location, but most pet-friendly properties welcome 2 pets per room with a 50 lbs weight limit. There is a $200 pet fee for each fur-bulous animal per stay.  Pets must be leashed or in a carrier in all public areas of the hotel.  It ensures everyone’s safety and comfort, making every guest, whether human or “pawsome,” feel at ease during their stay.

DoubleTree by Hilton Pet Policy

The DoubleTree by Hilton brand has been a favorite hotel of many families and business travelers due to its consistency and numerous U.S. locations. Over 100 of DoubleTree’s locations are noted as pet-friendly so finding an option in your destination of choice shouldn’t be difficult.  The exact pet policy is location-specific so we recommend calling in advance to confirm all of the specifics.  From our research, guests should budget for a $75 non-refundable cleaning fee for a pet being added to the portfolio.  We’re wagging our tails in appreciation of large dogs and cats being welcomed in most pet-friendly DoubleTree locations.

Hampton by Hilton Pet Policy

If you’re a road warrior, you’ve most likely logged some nights at a Hampton by Hilton.  This mid-scale hotel offering has a lot that frequent travelers seek out such as free Wi-Fi, a hot breakfast bar and comfortable (and practical) room design. Recently Hampton by Hilton has become very pet friendly across many of its U.S. locations; however, Hilton does suggest calling a specific hotel or checking their website in advance to confirm the pet policy as the pet fees, sizes and types of pets allowed vary by location.  We did a pet policy spot check of some hotels and this is what we found.  In most Hampton by Hilton hotels, pet fees range from $50-75 for 1-4 days and then go up to $75-125 for 5+ days.  The maximum weight allowed ranges from 50-75 lbs.

Hilton Garden Inn Pet Policy

Similar to the Hampton by Hilton, the Hilton Garden Inn is a popular choice with travelers who make a living on the road.  Hilton Garden Inns are ubiquitous across the US interstates and offer a comfortable, predictable hotel experience that includes free coffee, hot breakfast options and decent onsite fitness facilities.  Hilton Garden Inn has also implemented a pet-friendly policy in many of its U.S. hotels.  Similar to Hampton by Hilton, prices, types of pets allowed and sizes will vary by location.  We did a pet policy spot check of some hotels and this is what we found.  In most Hilton Garden Inn hotels, pet fees range from $75-$125 and cats and large dogs up to 75 lbs are allowed in most locations. Please check the website for pet policies or call the specific location you are interested in to confirm it is okay to bring your pet along for the stay. Service animals are welcome at no charge but should be added to the reservation in advance so the hotel team is prepared.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Pet Policy

Embassy Suites by Hilton is a tried-and-true option for many families setting out on vacations or weekend jaunts due to the comfortable size of the rooms, separate living and sleeping quarters and the sought-after made-to-order breakfast that is sure to satisfy everyone in your party.

At Embassy Suites travelers can have up to 2 dogs or cats per room with a $75 maximum charge per stay of 1-4 nights and a $125 maximum charge per stay for 5+ nights. Those traveling with pets will most likely be offered a non-premium suite type which may or may not fit your travel needs.  Specific hotels that do welcome pets are noted on Hilton’s website and specific fees and weight limitations are noted on each hotel’s policy page.  While this may take a little bit of extra legwork in your trip planning, the treats may be endless if there is a pet-friendly Embassy Suites in your destination of choice.

Tapestry Collection by Hilton Pet Policy

The Tapestry Collection by Hilton is a lovely menagerie of boutique hotels, mainly located in the U.S.  While we certainly recommend exploring and staying at these unique properties when you’re traveling pet-free, it may be a different story if you have your dog or cat in tow due to pet policies per location. The Tapestry Collection hotels may tailor guest policies based on location, so you will need to confirm directly with the hotel if they accept 4-legged friends. For the roughly 50% of Tapestry Collection hotels that do allow dogs, we found that the non-refundable cleaning fee starts at $35 but is generally between $50-$75.

Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts Pet Policy

If you’re looking for the lap(dog) of luxury hotels, The Waldorf Hotels & Resorts, is your spot.  Pet-friendly Waldorf Astorias do exist, but the amenity is not extended across every hotel so you will need to confirm on the Hilton website or by calling the hotel directly (ruff-ly half of the Waldorf’s are pet-friendly).  Those Waldorf Astorias that do welcome pets will certainly roll out the red carpet for your furry friend(s), but there will be a $200 pet fee per stay added to your room folio.  Two dogs per room are welcome and you can expect plenty of treats and pet amenities like food and water bowls plus a pet bed in your guest room. Très magnifique!

Tru by Hilton Pet Policy

Tru by Hilton is a relatively newer brand (started in 2016) and caters to a more carefree traveler who is most likely spending the majority of his/her time exploring the destination versus spending time in a small, but efficient Tru hotel room.

Tails are wagging for the very pet-friendly Tru Hotel brand in which 98% of the locations are pet-friendly.  There are a few outliers so just doublecheck the website and/or call your hotel directly to confirm its specific policies.  In the instance you do decide to stay at a Tru Hotel, you can expect some of the lowest pet fees across the Hilton brand with most of these hotels charging $35 for adding a pet to your reservation.
