Yes, White Point Garden and The Battery are dog friendly areas in historic Charleston. Dogs have the run of White Point Garden from dawn until 9 am and then again from 5-11 pm. The harbor-front park is not fenced in, so only let your dog off-leash if you are confident in his/her recall training. The Battery is a lovely walk with beautiful historic homes to one side and the seawall on the other. Note that we did not see any water fountains during our visit, so bringing your own on hot summer days will be helpful.

At nearly 6 acres, White Point Garden is a grrreat size park to give your pup some exercise during the temperate parts of the day. The lush grounds offer lots of shade and beautiful scenery. The area is home to several civil war artifacts and memorials as a nod to the city’s historical and seafaring upbringing.
