Yes, Folly Beach is dog-friendly! Dogs must be on a leash at all times while on the beach. From May 1 to Sept 30, dogs are not allowed on the beach from 10 am to 6 pm so you will need to prioritize the sunrise and sunset beach strolls with your pup in order to enjoy this popular stretch of sand. More Info:
Nicknamed “Charleston’s Beach Town,” Folly Beach has quite a loyal fanbase who rave about the dog-friendliness of the area. In addition to the beach allowing leashed dogs to visit all day (off-season), or early morning/evenings (high season), there is Folly Beach Bark Park which is a 0.25 dog run that offers plenty of space for dogs to get their zoomies in. The mostly-sandy park is equipped with a pet water fountain, shady areas and pet disposal bags and trash cans.
