About Folly Beach
Is Folly BeachDog Friendly?
Yes, Folly Beach is dog-friendly! Dogs must be on a leash at all times while on the beach. From May 1 to Sept 30, dogs are not allowed on the beach from 10 am to 6 pm so you will need to prioritize the sunrise and sunset beach strolls with your pup in order to enjoy this popular stretch of sand. Dogs are not allowed on Folly Beach Pier at any time of the year.
Nicknamed “Charleston’s Beach Town,” Folly Beach has quite a loyal fanbase who rave about the dog-friendliness of the area. In addition to the beach allowing leashed dogs to visit all day (off-season), or early morning/evenings (high season), there is Folly Beach Bark Park which is a 0.25 dog run that offers plenty of space for dogs to get their zoomies in. The mostly-sandy park is equipped with a pet water fountain, shady areas and pet disposal bags and trash cans.
