More Info:
Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted in 1891, Louisville’s Cherokee Park might remind you of Olmsted’s other famous parks, notably New York City’s Central Park. The park covers 409 acres and scenic Beargrass Creek runs through it. Popular dog friendly activities include walking the park’s 2.3-mile paved Scenic Loop and hiking the 4.8 mile Cherokee Park Trail, which is not paved and considered “moderately challenging.” A popular spot to visit is Cherokee Park’s (locally) famous Big Rock. Please note that dogs must be leashed at all times and unfortunately, the only off-leash area in Cherokee Park is limited to members only.
