Located just five miles from downtown Dunedin and one of Florida’s best-loved state parks, Honeymoon Island State Park features more than four miles of beaches, including one wonderful stretch of white sand that welcomes leashed dogs. But that’s not all. The popular park also has a dog-friendly 2.5 mile trail through one of the last remaining virgin slash pine forests. Honeymoon Island State Park is quite wild, so be sure to bring plenty of water, sunscreen and waste bags.

Just two miles from downtown Dunedin, Hammock Park’s 90 acres offer dogs and their humans five miles of nature trails and boardwalks, five picnic pavilions, an observation platform, a treehouse-themed playground area, restrooms, and a butterfly garden. In designated areas, off-leash dog walking is allowed during specific hours: 7-9 AM and 4-6 PM. Please pay close attention to the signs and be sure to leash your happy pooch during all other hours.

The Pinellas Trail

Pets are allowed in the hotel’s pet-friendly rooms, up to 2 dogs per room with an 80-pound weight limit. Additional pet types (cats, birds, etc.) may be accepted at the hotel’s discretion. The pet rate is $30 per day with a $150 per week maximum.
